"It is the nature of mortals to kick a fallen man."

~Aeschylus, Agamemnon

WHO

alliances

So much of life is alliance. How we humans love to hang out together.

Yet with our futures so appropriated - usurped! - by the gods, with romance so random, luck so fickle, and the glues that make friendship stick so unpredictable, alliances too often evanesce.

But who cares! When an appealing joint adventure presents itself, we gladly sign on, for hours, weeks or a lifetime. In that spirit, THI is seeking informal partnerships with other non-profits, fellow chefs in this ever-intriguing soup-kitchen of positive change. down

Ashoka's mission is to develop the profession of social entrepreneurship around the world. Ashoka invests in people. It is a global organization that searches the world for social entrepreneurs-extraordinary individuals with unprecedented ideas for change in their communities. Ashoka identifies and invests in these social entrepreneurs when no one else will.

It does so through stipends and professional services that allow "Ashoka Fellows" to focus full time on their ideas for leading social change in education and youth development, health care, environment, human rights, access to technology and economic development.

Ashoka has invested in more than 1,500 Ashoka Fellows in 53 countries. Those Fellows have transformed the lives of millions of people in thousands of communities worldwide.
